I didn’t, COULDN’T, watch QI on Friday.

A realtime photo-document of my reaction to Friday's QI panel.

My Old Dad, upon watching the start of QI, would give a nod and an affirmative declaration to each guest he approved of as Fry introduced them.

“Bill Bailey!” – “Uh-Huh…Good”

“Sean Lock” – “Yes, great”

“Rich Hall” – “Excellent”

etc etc…

I can only imagine the free-style-street-dance he did in his grave last night as each of the episode’s guests were revealed.

I for one, upon hearing the names, groaned like a dog in agony as the trio of bilge was bought forth before me.

“Jimmy Carr!” – A man who still thinks, as a grown man, that alluding to vaginas, blow jobs and anal sex is the height of comic genius.

“Johnny Vegas!” – A joke that wore off a long, long, long, long time ago.

And horror, upon horror, upon horror…

“Sarah Millican!” – Part Alan Carr, part female, “ALL bastard” (to quote Black Books)

Any gem of knowledge, any perfectly pitched impression from Sir Fry will have to be lost forever. Even Fry’s epic power at being a Human being isn’t enough to make me sit through any amount of time with those three calorific pies of nightmarish shit.

I immediately ran to the shower to wash my eyes, and through my soapy, bloody tears I started to compile my dream QI panel.  Some may have already been on and I’ve forgotten, some SHOCK me that they havent already appeared. All are alive.

  1. Did you know that Michael Palin was originally intended to host, with Stephen Fry as one team captain and Alan Davies the other?

  2. Oooh I didn’t know that! Delighted you have Chris Packham on the list! I think the
Armstrong and Miller chaps would be good. They are brainy! Ohhh wasn’t there an episode where Ben Miller was on there with his older self Rob Brydon and they had a pash up?! Maybe I should check that happened for real and not just in my head before I post this!
